The SP SOL-Park™ solar carport design, as developed by Sacred Power Corporation, consists of 20-Photowatt PW 1250 125 watt photovoltaic modules and 1-SMA America 2.5 KW inverter along with all of the appropriate disconnects, safety switches and combiner boxes per section.
System Description
Each section can accommodate up to 2 full size vehicles. Sections are then ganged to produce the amount of required and/or the amount of shading desired. Depending on parking lot orientation, the mounting structure could be in a fixed position for East-West axis parking lots, or a tracking position which is utilized for North-South parking lot orientation.
The benefit of utilizing our sectional carport design is threefold;
One, as mentioned each manufactured section is standardized and easily multiplied to achieve the carport configuration desired.
Two, smaller PV/Inverter segments add to reliability-one of several string inverters failing is not as critical as a single primary inverter failing.
Three, trouble shooting and maintenance is simplified with the use of a systems control that constantly monitors up to 150 sections (150 Inverters!) at any given moment.
In addition, ground mounted structures such as the SP SOL-Park™ are exempt form additional NEC Requirements of additional sophisticated ground fault equipment. This lessons the complexity as well as the cost of the installed systems.
SP SOL-Park™ (2.5kW) each section consists of the following:
20 Matrix PW 1250, 125 watt Photovoltaic Modules
SunnyBoy 2.5kW, 240 1-pahse Inverter with performance monitoring display
AC & DC Disconnects Fuses
10 Pole Combiner box
Structural Design of the Carport
Compared to a fixed array type carport, the SP SOL-Park™ has the ability for single axis tracking. The result is an average of 25% more power each day. That's more energy available within the building or for sale to the local utility. Technical data requests for the SP SOL Park™ can be made directly to your SPC representative.
