Sacred Power Corporation is the national leader in Native American renewable energy development. It has developed and installed many photovoltaic and renewable energy systems on Indian lands across the Country.
System Description
This system, designated the SP Midi, was designed to be a high-powered renewable energy hybrid using the best sub-systems that are available on the market. Maintenance free, fully automated, and ready to be delivered to remote sites for immediate use, its continuous power output rating is up to 2.5kW/hour.
We at Sacred Power believe we have succeeded where others have failed because of the large amount of power that is available from our system, at a relatively low cost. Included in our system are several 'king-pins'; components never before seen in a PV/hybrid system.
These include the following:
- PV Array - 330 watts, utilizes Matrix Modules new 165-watt modules. More power, less space.
- Dual-axis tracker adds 38% more power by tracking the sun all day.
- PV Array - 330 watts, utilizes Matrix Modules new 165 watt modules.
- Gel cell batteries - no water to add or check.
- Compact size and transportability and heavy weight for stability.
- Ready for use upon delivery.
Design Rationale
The SP 330 system is designed for high quality through manufacturability resulting in low cost. The system is built and tested in a controlled environment. Once delivered, the unit is completely operational. The only on-site 'construction' is the possible erection of the optional wind tower and/or the telecommunications equipment, both of which can be attached to the heavy powder coated steel frame and the electrical connections are made directly to the adjacent inverter.
The use of a dual-axis tracker provides more power versus the use of a fixed mounted or seasonally adjusted type photovoltaic module racking. The use of industrial grade, deep-cycle, maintenance-free gel batteries alleviates past problems dealing with the frequent customer servicing of the batteries.
Dimensions:
Length: 6.0 feet;
Width: 5.5 feet;
Height: 10 feet;
Weight: 1,000 lbs., depending on options.
Installation Schedule
Renewable energy systems have a long lead time due to heavy demand. Depending on quantity, they typically are available 4 months after receipt of order (ARO).
Performance Projections
The SP 330 system can provide the peak power requirements of a 2kW/day load by operating in the following matter, with the following options: 330-watt array on dual-axis tracker provides 330 x 8 hours/day = 2,640 plus 38% additional power by tracking = 3,643 watts/day dc reduced 25% for ac conversion = 2,732 watts/day.
