David S. Melton, President, CEO
Sacred Power Corporation
Dave is a tribal member of the Pueblo of Laguna, village of Paguate. He is co-founder, President and CEO of Sacred Power Corporation, the largest Native American owned and operated renewable energy systems integration and manufacturing firm in the U.S.
He is founder, Pres/CEO of Sacred Power Motorsports, NASCAR Racing Team.
He is founder, Pres/CEO of JAG Distribution, NM Licensed distributor of beer, wine, and spirits.
Dave has a degree in economics from UNM and 36 graduate hours.

David was recognized as CEO of the Year, 2011, by the New Mexico Business Weekly.

David was recognized as the Businessman of the Year, March 2011, by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development, Mesa, AZ.

David serves on Dept. of Commerce Sec., Locke's Manufacturing Council 2009-2013, as the New Mexico and Renewable Energy representative.

Dave serves on New Mexico's Economic Development Small Business Commission, 2010-2013.

Dave is Past-Chair of the Albuquerque Energy Council, a citizen advisory group to City Council on the 1% Renewable Energy/Energy Conservation Bond, soon to be 3% of the General Bond, totaling around $4.5M.

He is past Chairman of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico, 2004-2009, a business advocacy group and past Board Chair of the American Indian National Chamber of Commerce, a consortium of state Indian Chambers throughout the country, 2008-2010.

Mr. Melton has been listed as a NM Business Weekly “Top 25 Power Broker” in the state of NM, 2009.

Dave serves his tribe as a member of the Board of Directors, Laguna Investment Council, an entity created to secure the financial resources of the Pueblo, 2010-2014; and also as a member of the Tribal Financial Stability Committee, 2011-2013.

Mr. Melton was fortunate to receive the SBA “Person of the Year” presented by Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman and Congresswoman Heather Wilson in October, 2006.

Dave served as a Member of NM Governor’s Climate Change Advisory Council 2005-2006, which just reported back to the Governor on Dec. 1, 2006.

The company, Sacred Power Corporation, has been awarded the “Flying 40 Award” for 5 consecutive years recognizing the top 40 Technical fastest and highest growth in revenues and job creation in New Mexico, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011.

Sacred Power has been listed numerous times as one of the Top 25 Indian-Owned Firms in the State of NM.

The Company is the recipient of the Dept. of Commerce' Minority Business Development Agency ( MBD) National "Retail Energy" Company of the Year. Award presented 8/27/10.

David was also appointed by Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez to serve on the Energy Stimulus Implementation Team 2/09.
